Fantastic Four movie review
Yes, another movie review. It's hot outside - what else am I going to do? Today I went and saw Fantastic Four, which by the way, is the number one movie in America for the weekend.
If you're looking for a dark, moody movie like Batman Begins, don't see this movie. If you like fun little action movies based on comic books, check it out.
Personally, I love comic book movies, so this was a treat for me. I'm not saying it is a movie of epic proportions or anything like that, just saying it was a fun movie. The critics are having a field day with bashing it, but they probably don't even know who the Fantastic Four are.
As a comic book guy, I thought the casting was good, especially in the case of Johnny Storm (Human Torch) and Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic). I could have used a darker version of Dr. Doom, but you can't have everything. This movie is pretty much an origin story and is obviously the jumping off point for one or more sequels.
This was not my favorite comic book movie, but it is in the top 10 (and if you think about it, there have been a lot of comic book based movies). It is nowhere close to the two Spider-Man movies or the two X-Men movies, but I feel like it was two hours well spent. I give Fantastic Four 3 out of 5 stars.
